The following are community-based project activities that implemented energy efficient improved cooking practice at households to replace inefficient open firing practice at the baseline. These project activities are registered ‘Component Project Activities’ (CPAs) of a “Programme Of Activities” (PoA) registered under ‘Clean Development Mechanism’ (CDM) of UNFCCC which was registered under VCS mechanism via successful gap validation practice of VERRA with the following VCS IDs:

The main objective of this CPA is the installation of energy efficient Improved Cooking Stoves (ICS) in the households (HHs) that are using wood as cooking fuel located throughout Viet Nam. The ICS will result in reduced firewood consumption leading to climate change mitigation in a sustainable manner. Overall objectives are reduction of greenhouse gases, conservation of forests and woodlands as well as improved health conditions of ICS users due to improved indoor air quality. The project activity targets households in rural communities with no previous ICS access. ICS are distributed free of cost to users. Korea Carbon Management (KCM) financed the implementation of the CPA in full

Korea Carbon Management Ltd ("KCM") is the investor and purchaser of ICS from the manufacturer. As per VERRA's requirement on the supply chain (scope 3 ) emissions, KCM is on behalf of the relevant manufacturer confirming that Carbon Credits may be issued through the Verified Carbon Standard to the relevant VCS project listed above for the greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals associated with the ICS manfucartured by the relevant manufacturer.
